US/NATO ATTACKED KURSK TO TAKE PRESSURE OFF LOSING BATTLE IN PALESTINE

Dr. Robert Daly

BEIRUT, Aug. 20. The US and NATO invaded Russia’s Kursk Oblast through its Kiev proxy in order to head off Russian military assistance to the Palestinian Resistance. Now Russia must first deal with an enlarged Ukraine problem, before it can act in behalf of Gaza, or so thinks NATO. The purpose of the invasion was to pin Russia down with a problem on his own doorstep, so it can’t jump into the Palestine liberation struggle, as it did into Syria ten years ago to repel NATO’s terrorist attack on that country.

Pictures of US mercenaries (see photo 1) followed by US journalists, including the Washington Post and Italy’s RAI (see photo 2) stomping around in Kursk belie the fact that this is a NATO operation, not a local affair.

Western imperialists act as a class worldwide, not as individual entities, whether they are attempting to subdue a rival (Russia) or wipeout a threat to their (declining) hegemony (Palestine). Alexander Dugin recognizes that fact in his recent interview with @PartisanGirl (2), and notes that the Resistance does not fully recognize it, and does not recognize that for the imperialists there is one war with multiple fronts (Ukraine, Palestine, Taiwan, Korea, etc.), rather than only the Resistance’s own individual and crucial struggle in West Asia. The point is that the imperialists are attempting to weaken Russia’s support for the Resistance (detailed below) by attacking it in Kursk. It is necessary to fight the imperialists on multiple fronts, as argues George Galloway with his proposal for a ground invasion to liberate Syria's Golan Heights (3).

The Kursk invasion, undoubtedly planned for some time, began days after Russia launched multiple military aid missions to countries of the Resistance. It certainly must have been alarming to NATO Aug. 2 when a Russian IL-76 cargo plane operated by Gelix Airlines touched down in Tehran days after the Zionist assassinations of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran July 31 and Hezbullah commander Fouad Shoukr here in Beirut Aug. 1. (4) Though no one has revealed what the cargo plane was carrying, Gelix specializes in large arms transport, e.g. air defense systems like the Russian S-400. According to Simplicius, there’s a report that Iran has been given one of Russia’s ultra-long-range electronic warfare tools, the Murmansk complex (5): “Previously, these complexes were deployed in the Northern Fleet and in Crimea…Their distinctive feature is a suppression range of up to 5 thousand kilometers.” (Suppression range is the distance within which an e-warfare system can knock out enemy missiles and aerial vehicles.) According to Simplicius, the Aug. 2 Gelix flight is not the only one of the Russian Il-96 and Il-76 transport planes “streaming into Tehran.”

At the same time, CNN reports that Russia was on the verge of large weapons deliveries to the Houthis but pulled back in response to threats from the US and objections from the Saudis. Now that the US and NATO have plunged into Kursk, perhaps Russia will follow through on these promised deliveries. Indeed, reportedly, Russian GRU intelligence officers have been behind the string of successful Houthi hits on Red Sea vessels. Russia has already been quite active in asymmetrically opposing American imperialism, partially in response to the U.S. using Ukraine as a proxy to hurt Russia (6).

Don’t pay attention to Zelensky’s story that Kursk will be a bargaining chip in peace negotiations. Reality is that because of his defeat in Kursk, Kiev has also lost “New York,” a Kiev fortress town in Donetsk that had prevented advance of Russian and Donetsk troops for a decade. Now those troops can advance.
