Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the attack on Saturday that killed at least three members of the Lebanese Civil Defense in southern Lebanon, the second in a single day, and called an urgent meeting for Monday. “This new aggression against Lebanon is a flagrant violation of international law and a flagrant attack on humanitarian values. Such acts are not surprising on the part of the Israeli enemy, who continues his crimes in Lebanese and Palestinian territories,” Mikati said in a statement.
The Emergency Operations Centre at the Ministry of Public Health reported the death of three paramedics and injuries to two other.

The PM detailed that the dead were members of the Civil Defense who were putting out fires caused by the Israeli air strikes on the city of Froun. He added in the note that, as “the Israeli enemy is ignoring international laws and standards,” he calls an urgent meeting next Monday with “Western ambassadors and representatives of international organizations to assume their responsibilities in stopping the Israeli aggression against Lebanon.”
“We have to put pressure on the Israeli enemy, who is ignoring all laws and continues its destructive acts against Lebanon and the Lebanese people, particularly those working to extinguish their fires of hatred,” Mikati said.
